is the first line in the Diary of Painter Bui Xuan Phai in 1970, which is the name for the book introducing his notes written in 30 years (1958-1988). Bui Xuan Phai is one of the few Vietnamese painters who, in addition to carefully building a drawing material system, constantly keeps a diary. What he writes is just his own thoughts, but all of them express concerns about art, for art and only for art. The final reflections are only about how to draw better, closer to the essence of art. Bui Xuan Phai did not intend to declare, his painting heritage was too rich, nor did he define aesthetic philosophy, but directly identified social phenomena related to art.
