We need more educators like Roger Herring. I love the kindness and the fact that she was never made to feel that she owed them anything. But clearly she’s a grateful kind. Kudos! I hope the teachers will continue to cultivate this positive cycle of love and kindness. Biker And they lived happily ever after poster. So wonderful to have everyone pulling for you without you even knowing. You were just doing your thing. Even more wonderful that you’re using your gifts to give back to the community that supported you. That’s amazing for everyone involved in so many different ways. You for not being a statistic, the principal for realizing he was wrong and admitting it on his own, even your Aunt really did great trying to do the best she could even if it wasn’t legal. This is beautiful.

I had some teachers judge me for my family’s actions but ultimately teachers saved me and I will be forever grateful. Teachers are imperfect people- just like all of us. I’m glad that you blossomed instead of being squashed by his prejudgment. Biker And they lived happily ever after poster. I’m glad he apologized too- first with the quiet support of paying the fees that likely would have kept you from excelling at those activities, and then out loud so that the hurt 9th grader inside you could hear it. As hard as we try as teachers (and humans), we can all make mistakes. I’m so glad to hear that he readily admitted his mistake and I bet that isn’t one he will soon make again.
