If the hospice was on East 19th (MLK), it is still a hospice although not for AIDS it is where my father died and is a truly lovely and compassionate place with tiles in the courtyard of previous occupants, including a friend I had gone to school. This entire series was beyond beautiful to read. The stories here always bring me to tears in the best of ways. This one particularly touched me. What it is to have friendship in this world. Thank you so much for this story.. “If you don’t have a Mickey in your life, then be a Mickey to someone else” Is truly a moment that made me . A story of pure and selfless love. Thank you for sharing this heartbreaking but powerful story. We should all be so lucky as to experience such love in our lifetime.
