Congratulations Black wonder woman my dear daughter mom poster what a blessing to have a mom who advocated for you and now you are able to do the same for others . Love this. Love your moms tenacity. I can agree it’s hard being “that mom” and changing a whole school systems beliefs. I hope to be able to do as much teaching to staff as she has so rectify many of the systems flaws when it comes to educating children of different abilities. Our kids can teach more people things than a classroom can !. That’s the kind of mom every child deserves. Your mom is amazing!! I worked at a school with a child with selective mutism. Just as a lunch monitor so I was only there for a half an hour with her at lunch, she was one of my favourite students!! I actually didn’t even realize that she had it! I was always a shy kid, and I did better with yes and no questions, so we had lots of conversations where I asked her yea and no questions! Some of them were ridiculous and she would laugh. The next year she talked to me, and I felt really special that I had cracked her inner circle, but then I found out she has selective mutism and I felt REALLY special!! I like to think I played some part in helping her feel comfortable enough at school to talk!

Her mom is my hero! My newly adopted son has special needs, and I will strive to be as good of an advocate for him!. I fight for my daughter who has CP and intellectual disabilities every day. To all the moms who have shut down a school or marched in a parade so their child can be seen: I salute you.. You will be an amazing advocate for those whose voice needs to be heard. Cheers to having an amazing mom, too.. Samantha Gitli Schaefer Black wonder woman my dear daughter mom poster Sheena, look at what she has accomplished with selective mutism! Karen Heiss Eisen. You are a rock star, and so is your mom. Best of luck to you in law school. Happy to help in any way I can (I am a dean at Brooklyn Law School).. Some people really luck out in the Mom department. This Mommy is a warrior.. The unconditional love of a mother can move mountains, bring the greatest joy, and provide their children with an endless amount of love.. Reading this testament about the power of a mother’s love feels like a hug. My daughter hates that diagnosis because she says she isn’t selecting to be mute. Best wishes and continued success. My daughter was diagnosed just yesterday. This can’t be a coincidence. She’s 3 1/2. I hope I can be this mom.. I had terrible test anxiety after grad school. I had to drive to the state capital to take two of my licensure exams. Both times, my mother rode with me (a 2.5 hour ride, usually at 6 am) to share the ride and blather on to help reduce my anxiety. She always knew how to calm me down, how to make me laugh and talk sense into me. She was my guardian, my defender. I love and miss her so.
