And we were eating dinner together at a seaside restaurant. I remember Dad got really quiet, and said: ‘I’ve been trying to figure out what I’m feeling lately. And I’ve decided that I’m happy.’ It was the first time that I’d ever heard him say it. What a beautiful story. Cat That’s what I do I bake and I know things poster. I’m so sorry about the loss of his parents, but at least he was able to be closer to his father before he passed. And his father got to experience the true happiness of a life fulfilled. Dads are so hard to get to open up. Growing up we were close to him when we were little but then we gravitated to my mom for everything and she provided so well for us. My dad was always there but never present.

My mom passed away about 2 years ago and it’s forced us to interact with my dad but it’s so hard to get to know what he’s feeling. Cat That’s what I do I bake and I know things poster. I know we don’t have much more time with him. He’s in a nursing home and it’s that much more difficult to communicate with him. I wish he’d say something profound but I’ll take anything to have that memory. Im so sorry for your loss. Your story is beautiful. It takes alot for someone to admit their shortcomings, good on him. Im glad you got to spend some real time together before you lost him. God bless you. I really love this story.
