I recently began using Ceylon cinnamon rather than typical Cassia variety. The first time I opened the bottle and smelled it, it brought tears to my eyes. The nostalgia hit me like a tidal wave. My childhood home smelled like Ceylon cinnamon when I was growing up – the cabinets particularly. I had no idea how to pinpoint that scent and did it completely by accident.
