When I was in middle school, I was really mean to some of the special needs students and got got. The teacher wanted to suspend me, but one of the students said, “What if we brought Zach to our next pool day?” They had a monthly outing to the Y to swim. Don’t dream it be it poster. “And we will make friends with him and then he won’t won’t to be mean.” That was the best field trip I ever went on and they taught me to be a.better person through pure love. Nearly six years after his loss to brain cancer, I am reminded by this post of my brother’s rare light – not because of any out-sized life accomplishments – but because of his persistent vibration of joy despite similar life challenges.
Don’t dream it be it poster

He was good, decent and kind. He was profoundly ‘present’ by nature (before it was trendy to be so), authentic, enthusiastic and truly genuine in all he did. Don’t dream it be it poster. As someone who struggled through learning disabilities (before they were acknowledged) and hyperactivity (before it was well understood), his energy could overwhelm and set him apart (isolate him) but if you knew him you understood that you were in the presence of a life force that was heaven sent. Like this woman, he adored people, was the embodiment of caring, warmth and acceptance and was a friend to everyone and anyone who needed one. Despite being dealt challenging cards throughout his life he always played his hand with equanimity and optimism.
