Crying over this beautiful story! My Dad was also a hard working immigrant whose sacrifices built a bridge for me to cross over to something better. He died just over a year ago and reading how much you love your Dad made me think of how much I love. This is a beautiful story. My children and I loved Tish too. We lived in Austin so we got to see her and several other amazing children’s musicians. So happy you and your dad got to see/hear her live. She would love this story. The gift that immigrant parents give their children is unmatched. Everyone is welcome ASL doormat My own parents left Colombia leaving everything behind (family, friends, language, culture) in search of a better future for my siblings and I. You are truly the embodiment of the American dream; self sacrifice, love of family and hope for a better future. I’m glad they chose to stay.. This was just the medicine I needed today. What a beautiful reminder to tell and SHOW the people we love that we appreciate the contributions they have made to our lives. I’m totally snot crying right now…. As a Colombian who came to USA on a student visa when I was 15 years old, I can relate to this story. I cried out of happiness reading your story. I am now a US citizen and with my beautiful wife Ana from Argentina, we raised two beautiful bilingual. Colombia represent!
