My sons grew up with Aunt Susie being a part of their lives for 20 years. She passed away 3 1/2 years ago, and I miss her so much. It was recommended when she was born in 1961 that my parents institutionalize her for the sake of the rest of the family. Mickey and minnie starry night poster. I can’t imagine if that had happened. She was such a gift for us all. My mom has a brother, Fred, with special needs, and when I was born my mom told him they could raise me together. Same with my sister. Then my mom became a foster home for my uncle’s friend, Ben, that had Downs. I was raised around both of them, and they taught me so much about love and kindness and life and friendship. They have wonderful hearts.

We sadly lost Ben a few months back at the age of 62, and I miss him every day. They were and are my best friends. I think we’ve all just fallen in love with your sister, too.
