Thank you for sharing, your story really reassured me. I grew up with a mom who worked with developmentally delayed individuals and we learned from them just as much as they learned from us. Owl teacher dear studens I believe in you poster. Today I’m a care taker for my cousin who is autistic and it is now my kids who learn from him. We may not all be the “same” but I feel like human empathy and compassion can be a universal experience. Tracey may be different than us in some ways, but she’s even better than us in one very important way- her heart filled with so much love to give. God so beautifully made her to teach us all how to love without hesitation despite our circumstances.

I wish I was more like Tracey. I wish I could give each of you a big hug. Me and my daughter with my brother who is diagnosed with autism and is low functioning on the spectrum. He can’t really speak in full sentences, never learned to read or write. Owl teacher dear studens I believe in you poster. Will always need to be cared for. Does the guilt of living your own life ever go away? I’m just glad I’ve had the pleasure of coinciding with him in this lifetime. I love him so so much, more than I could ever explain with words. Thankfully he doesn’t need words to understand. I am writing this through tears. My younger sister Susie had DS. When her group home closed she came to live with my family.
