They could’ve fit but both of their bodies would have been half immerssed in the water, so they both would have died . Jack did try but it didn’t work. The least she could have done was give him the life jacket, that would have helped him float and find something else to stay afloat. But what made this the best movie was indeed the fact that Jack sacrificed himself for. Realistically the door was much smaller on the ship than in the movie. It was constructed much larger to be used as a prop for the scene. In the 1900s you couldve never gotten two people on it. If you watch closely, you can see that Jack tried to get on top of the door with Rose but he doesn’t put much effort into it. My theories are: a) they could both fit but they both would have sank. You can tell Rose is almost halfway in the water just Poster boxer pilot bravo alpha romeo kilo

No way. The bouyancy says otherwise. It was already sinking when they tried the first time. And you can see the look on Jack’s face when he accepts his fate and lets her have the door.. Here’s my comment to win. IT WASN’T A DOOR! The wood Rose floats on is the carved wood paneling from above the first class entrance. The real life artifact is housed and owned by the Atlantic Maritime museum in Halifax. However, only half the panel. They could if they retried but then there would’ve been no Titanic movie. Jack being dead is all what the movie is about love that lives deep inside our hearts and never dies. The heart will go on. I have a different answer to this every time i watch the movie. I wish they both could of fit! I don’t think it was possible to both get on without flipping it. The real question is why didn’t anyone fight for the door Poster boxer pilot bravo alpha romeo kilo

Could they fit? Yes BUT they both would’ve froze then as the door would’ve sunk a couple inches into the water. Can’t wait to see this in Dolby! I’m taking a 2.5 hour train ride into another state to see it. Between the train tickets and movie ticket. I’ve been fascinated by the story of Titanic so long, my interest began long before the movie’s release. (I have also been to a Titanic exhibit). Do I believe they both could have fit on the door? I honestly don’t know. Probably, probably not. They may have been physically able to both fit on the door, however neither if them would have survived if they forced themselves to fit together. When looking into things like umm physics and buoyancy you find the answer. It’s been proven time and time again that they both could’ve fit, but I think the payoff of her photos showing she lived a very fulfilling long life and ambiguously dying an old woman warm in her bed is much more impacting. It’d take strong conviction
