He passed over a decade ago, and I miss him all the time. Everyone should be so lucky to have a Larry or a Tracey. My brother has special needs and was the best big brother I ever had. Growing up and going to highschool together was tough. Stitch you and me we got this poster. People would ask what’s wrong with him. He looks normal but at the time his mental capacity was like a 10 year old. In my mind nothing is wrong with him! He loves bigger, smiles more and knows so much about trains, movies, planes and anything else he finds interesting. He even lives on his own now and is doing well and he’s in his mid 30s. I consider myself blessed. This story brought tears to my eyes. It’s very familiar to me. My younger brother is 23 and has Downs.

He has always had many friends, played all kinds of sports, was homecoming king in high school, and now has a job he really likes. My other siblings and I like to say that he is the coolest and best liked of all of us, not to mention the absolute kindest and most loving. Stitch you and me we got this poster. He gets sad sometimes when thinking about how he wants a normal life, to get married, and to be independent. Those things are still possible for him, they are just a little more complicated. I wish every person in the world could have the chance to know a person with Down Syndrome. We’d all be changed for the better because of it.
