This woman is a friend of mine and helped me through my sons alopecia diagnosis as well! He’s about the same age as her son, Connolly. Sweetest, bravest woman I could have “met” at the time. You’re doing an amazing job raising those boys, Danielle!. Handsome young men. I’m so sorry they have to endure bullying, but I’m so happy that you’ve found a successful approach to handling it, and that they have each other for support . This is so so so important. Educating kids about people that may not look or act the same as them is crucial for creating an empathetic, compassionate future.. My son also has Alopecia. His doctor and I discovered his got worse in Spring and Fall and did allergy testing. He was allergic to EVERYTHING environmental. We started allergy shots and his hair all grew in! What a wonderful story, it is scary how we can act in times of confusion. This mama bear should be proud at the example she sets for her boys. Happy holidays!. Your boys are utterly beautiful; in looks and in their personalities that radiate through those smiles. Being an advocate is brutal at times and e would break our heart’s over and over to save them the pain, but we can’t. You’ve raised a lad who is his. My ten year old daughter has alopecia areata. We also had a talk with her classmates and they were such a great support system for her. Sometimes sharing of information is the key to understanding!. An autistic student I work with asked to speak to his new class at the beginning of high school. It helped him to tell them what he needed, and the students knew it was okay to ask questions. Very powerful for people to be able to open up and share who Viking daddy brave as ragnar poster

I am a high school teacher and watched an amazing young man/my student struggle with this. Your story made me cry.. I was fortunate as a child that my alopecia was mild, so it escaped notice. As an adult, I am very grateful to Michael Jordan, Bruce Willis and Andre Agassi, who made bare heads cool.. What special boys they are. My daughter’s 6th grade teacher did a presentation with my daughter on her rare seizure disorder & brain surgeries. Why she had to shave her hair off, use a walker. Her teacher was one in a million….the kids in class were interested & understanding. My daughter has alopecia and she is 10. She has been so strong all her life about it but I can see things are changing as she is moving towards puberty and becoming more aware of her body in general. Love to you mama! I understand the mama bear stuff
